Special Events
Any activity or event sponsored by a third party at a GW facility must be covered by liability insurance procured by the third party. Liability insurance provides protection to the named insured, including volunteers and employees, for bodily injury and property damage claims arising from the inherent risks involved with operating special events.
All users of university facilities are required to carry liability insurance with limits of not less than $1 million per occurrence and with GW designated as an additional insured thereto. The user must provide verification of the required insurance prior to the activity/event.
If the user does not carry the required insurance, special events insurance coverage is available for special events/non-sports insurance requirements. The following are examples of events covered under the program:
- Charity Events and Benefits
- Concerts
- Trade Shows/Seminars/Presentations
- Fairs/Festivals
- Education Exhibitions
- Receptions
